To address the increasing demand for rehabilitation training and physiotherapy treatments among the growing elderly population, we are developing an AI platform based on a knowledge graph (KG). This platform will filter and recommend the most suitable rehabilitation exercises for patients based on their profiles, monitor their treatment progress, and record all related rehabilitation data. This data will be used to continuously update the knowledge graph, ensuring personalized and effective treatment plans for future sessions.
As the global elderly population continues to grow, the demand for community rehabilitation training and physiotherapy treatments is surging. To address this increasing need, our group is proposing a Knowledge-Graph (KG) based Rehabilitation Training and Treatment Support Platform. This platform aims to simplify the workflow of physiotherapists and significantly enhance their efficiency. The KG-based AI model can process complex knowledge-based data much faster and more accurately than traditional AI models, recommending the most suitable rehabilitation exercises.
The system will build and maintain a knowledge graph for patients by collecting all treatment-related information, including but not limited to medical histories, injury details, physical parameters (such as age and gender), treatment progress, and feedback. The platform will use this AI-generated knowledge graph to filter and recommend the best rehabilitation exercises for each patient based on their profile, monitor their treatment progress, and record all related rehabilitation data to update the knowledge graph for future treatments.
This system supports physiotherapists in identifying the most suitable rehabilitation exercises for patients and assists with subsequent coaching, monitoring, and tracking—tasks that are often the most time-consuming in the treatment workflow. The AI coach within the system will demonstrate and verify the correctness of patients’ body movements during exercises, recording all necessary data to update the KG model for future use by physiotherapists and to visualize the data for in-depth analysis.
